I would like to say thank you to whoever invented the famous Nasi Goreng. It's an easy dish and ultimate comfort food for me (after martabak, of course). The perfect balance from their seasoning and topped with a fried egg, there is nothing can go wrong with this dish. Anyone can make this beautiful sexy messy food from anything that you find in your house. Starting from chicken, beef, lamb, tuna, salmon, smoked beef, bacon or just a simple scrambled egg and butter.


Most of the time you'll find a Nasi Goreng with a western influences such as smoked beef, tuna and much more. But how about we mixed it up a little bit? Instead of having an ordinary Nasi Goreng what if we put an eastern influences in this dish and make it a Nasi Goreng Kebuli?


You'll easily find Nasi Goreng Kebuli Bombom right at Gandaria intersection. They shared the same place with Iga Bakar Panglima Polim (sort of, I forgot the name). They have this green signboard, so don't worry you won't missed it. Why Bombom? It was named after the owner's name. The owner's nickname is Bombom and he is a friend of mine. Why we called him Bombom? Hmm ... I'm not sure why. I called him that way since the first day I know him. I've passed this place a thousand times but always too lazy to stopped by since from the outside they always look full house. Luckily when I was there, it was least crowded than the usual.

They have lots of food selections. Starting from the good old nasi goreng to their mie goreng. They also have a roti bakar as a snack/desserts for us to try. I chose their Nasi Goreng Kebuli Kambing for that night and I also add a fried egg on top of it. I was starving after a hard long Pedodontic day. The unique thing from them is they used cheet*s as a substitute for kerupuk (crackers). I know it's not healthy but DAMN! It's a genius idea! I mean come on man! Who doesn't love cheet*s? Excuse me! I need another pack of cheet*s, sir!


The taste was quite unique, I think. It has this weird but yummy but strange but make you drool kebuli smell. What the f*ck is kebuli smell, Anjani? Well you know, it was that kind of smell that instantly made you realize that this is the good old nasi kebuli. It was more likely greasy and oily but somehow the oil made it more yumm. As for the lamb meat, it was generously given. I love it! It was tender and rich in flavor. Two thumbs up for their effort for serving a great lamb without that disgusting smell that sometimes you find in a street food vendor for not cleaning the lamb completely. I gotta admit their lamb was delicious.


Over all I was satisfied with their twist on nasi goreng. Adding an eastern influences made it more interesting and honestly really yummy. Definitely will come back for more and also trying their other menu. After all, a plate of nasi goreng won't hurt anybody at anytime :)
